music
I have the privilege of coming from quite a musical family – my father is an avid musicophile while my mother is a concert pianist, so I was exposed to music at a very early age. I can play the piano, cello and flute, with the latter becoming my instrument of focus.
I would often perform together with my mother, to which we were dubbed the mother-and-daughter “musical tandem” from the public and press. We were able to perform in multiple locations in the Philippines, including Manila, Cebu, Dumaguete and Bacolod, and in New York, USA.
At the age of 13, I made my orchestral debut in 2008 with Helen Quach conducting the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, performing the Poulenc Flute Sonata (orch. arrangement by Sir Lennox Berkeley). I was also the winner of the 2015 Brandeis-Wellesley Concerto Competition, and was the featured soloist of the Brandeis Wellesley Orchestra performing the Reinecke Flute Concerto.
